Source of Light Ministries International exists to bring people of every nation, language, and ethnicity into a mature relationship with Jesus Christ and into fellowship with a local church family.
Letter from the Editor – Ron Barnes
Over the past 68 years, God has blessed the ministry of Source of Light and expanded its influence to hundreds of countries. He has expanded the reach of our lessons into parts of the world conventional missionaries have never gone. He has expanded the vision of our founders and early missionaries beyond the use of the literature for evangelism and discipleship, into church planting, advanced theological and Bible training, prison ministries, children’s ministries, military and police outreach, slum ministry, and so much more.
God has blessed us with a wonderfully gifted, yet diverse team of missionaries who serve effectively in a variety of capacities with excellence, integrity, and godliness all around the globe. They serve selflessly and courageously, at times in some of the hardest soil and conditions imaginable. Each plays a necessary and significant role in achieving the overall SLM strategy of making disciples of every nation, language, and ethnicity.
Each of us at SLM serve with a common goal and unite under the same vision, given to us as we seek the will of God, then follow His lead! Proverbs 16:3 exhorts us to, “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.”
We want our thoughts to be established by the Lord, so that in every detail of how we serve Him, we honor and glorify Him. We want every one of our “works” to matter, and God has given us an expanded vision for the future as we have sought His guidance.
This Summer Edition of the Reaper will share both some of the expanded territory and vision God has given us, as well as testimonies and stories of how our missionaries will and are doing this on the frontlines. It is our earnest desire that the theme of this Reaper, “Seeking His Will, Following His Lead,” and the stories herein, will motivate and challenge you to pray and partner with us to accomplish together the Great Commission.
