Great is Thy Faithfulness

Faith

It was by faith that Source of Light had its humble beginnings. Two men had a vision and a passion for lost souls, but a bigger vision to see those souls discipled. It was really the “Great Commission” that compelled those two, their wives, and their families to leave everything behind and follow Him.

It was by faith that others joined in the task year after year, now for 70 years. Many left lucrative and dependable means of income for a life of missions service never to look back, only forward through faith… and prayer.

Faithful

In spite of seasons of trials, uncertainty, and scarcity, Source of Light and its missionaries stayed the course. They endured wars, persecution, financial crises, staffing shortages, mechanical issues, beatings, kidnappings, false accusations, testimony slander… and through it all SLM and our missionaries remained faithful.

Faithfulness

But without the faithfulness of God, 70 years of ministry would not have been possible. Were it not for His mercy, His grace, His compassion every single morning all these years, sustaining us through trials, renewing us through times of weariness, blessing us beyond what we deserved, SLM could never have seen the fruit of millions of people saved and discipled, thousands of new churches established, and hundreds of millions of lessons produced.

It was God’s faithfulness, the faith and faithfulness of SLM’s missionaries, and your faithful prayer and support of this ministry that SLM not only still exists, but thrives strong as a ministry, and continues to inspire and produce offshoots around the world.

This edition of the Reaper is dedicated to all those counted among the faithful in the ministry of Source of Light International, and will tell just a few of their stories.
